How this calculator works
Weighted linear formula Army line scores are weighted composites. Each score is influenced by the seven score-report inputs, with different weights for each line score. Composite = 100 + sum(weight x (score - 50)) Banker's rounding Half-point results use round-half-to-even rounding. For example, 100.5 rounds to 100, while 101.5 rounds to 102. Score range Enter ASVAB standard scores from 20 to 80. These are not percentile scores, raw correct answers, or practice-test percentages.

Army calculator FAQ

Common line score questions

What numbers do I enter?
Enter the standard scores from your ASVAB score report. They usually run from 20 to 80. Do not enter raw correct answers or practice-test percentages.
Why do I enter VE instead of Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension?
Army GT and other composites use VE, the Verbal Expression score already calculated on the official report. If your report only shows WK and PC, confirm the correct VE value before relying on the calculator.
Does this guarantee an Army MOS?
No. It is a planning tool. Final MOS access depends on official scores, current openings, medical and legal eligibility, waivers, education rules, and recruiter confirmation.
Why does the job match list show featured jobs only?
MeritMarch currently checks the calculator against our featured Army MOS guides. Use it to spot likely paths and weak score areas, then confirm the full current list with a recruiter.
