Army ASVAB jobs FAQ

Common Army ASVAB job questions

What does MOS stand for?
MOS stands for Military Occupational Specialty. In the Army, it is the job code and role name, such as 27D Paralegal Specialist or 17C Cyber Operations Specialist.
What ASVAB score do I need for Army jobs?
Start with AFQT because it affects basic enlistment eligibility. GoArmy currently lists at least 31 to enlist. Specific job options can also depend on Army line scores and current Army job availability.
Are Army ASVAB jobs based only on AFQT?
No. AFQT is the qualification layer. Army line scores help determine which MOS categories may fit your score profile after you qualify.
Is GT the only Army line score that matters?
No. GT is important and often discussed, but Army job research can also involve CL, CO, EL, FA, GM, MM, OF, SC, and ST depending on the MOS.
Can this page tell me every MOS I qualify for?
No. Public pages can help you understand score categories and study priorities, but a recruiter must confirm your current score profile, eligibility, openings, and branch requirements.

Sources and official confirmation

We keep this page focused on planning, not final eligibility. Confirm score rules, MOS availability, waivers, medical standards, citizenship rules, background checks, training seats, and contract options with official Army sources or a recruiter.

Status labels only appear when a listing needs extra context, such as an enlistment option, legacy entry, rescinded entry, or availability check. The in-demand label is a first-pass editorial marker from the comparison set and should still be verified against recruiter availability.
